At just 9 years old, Chef Mike began his journey in the restaurant business by standing over a hot sink washing pots one Christmas Eve in the basement of his family’s restaurant. The experience immediately led to his passionate calling in food service, a path that has allowed him the opportunity to master techniques in all styles of cuisines and to work in many different venues of food services.
Chef Mike and his wife, Aileen, wrote the book The Inner Peace Diet which was published and released internationally by Penguin in December 2008. Chef Mike earned a degree in Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts from the prestigious Johnson and Wales University. His affiliations include the National Restaurant Association and the American Culinary Federation. Chef Mike and Aileen reside in Delaware with their daughter where he spends his free time blogging, surfing—the ocean, not the web—and indulging in food photography.
